You've Heard of the Desktop Punching Bag, Well...

There was a period when I was obsessed with constructing a Standing Desk. It was partly for the health benefits of not sitting and partly for the creative benefits that come with standing while working. Eventually I created my own Frankenst-ikea version of a desk where I sit to work on my desktop computer and stand to write on my laptop. A perfect compromise.

The stand-up desk trend came and went quickly, followed by the, mostly theoretical, treadmill workstation craze. It never ocurred to me that there was a whole other level of fitness that one can pursue while commenting on FaceBook. Introducing the  Punching Keyboard, a working workout workstation where you literally punch the keys.

Ines Kaag and Desiree Heiss created the punching bag keyboard for some bizarre reason that is beyond reason. Nevertheless, it's intriguing and begs for a hands-on test drive. The non-QWERTY layout coupled with the space between characters means you'll be hitting a heart rate of 170 BPM while typing at a rate of about 2 WPM.

Best of all, you'll be working out the stress of work while you work (out). Need to write a nasty email? There's now no better way!
